Raiders QB Jason Campbell broke his right collarbone during Oakland’s 24-17 win over Cleveland. Campbell landed hard on his shoulder after being hit at the end of a rush by Cleveland linebackers Chris Gocong and Scott Fujita with about 4 minutes left in the half. With sustaining a fractured right collarbone, he missed the rest of the game and probably will miss the rest of the season. Campbell was six for nine through the air for 52 yards before leaving the field and being examined at the sideline.
Later, the Raiders inserted Kyle Boller for him. Although Boller hasn’t showed his skill much for the past three seasons, fortunately for the Raiders, Boller has extensive experience as a starter, and he is in his second season in the Raiders’ offense. The Raiders have little depth behind Boller, and would need to turn to under-seasoned rookie Terrelle Pryor if anything happened to him. Having been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the entire league this year and a part which makes them great was the play of Campbell, the Raiders further games will be faced more difficult as the star was sidelined due to injury. Campbell was leading a high-flying Oakland offense and was probably a solid backup option for the team.
