Ohio this afternoon, Barrack Obama, the president of Uncle Sam Country, America, dialogue about the competition to help secure a better future for the mid class and Obama’s choice to assign Richard Cordray to be chief of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. At Shaker Heights High School, the President said shielding consumers is very important for waiting: When Congress refuses to act, and as a result, hurts our economy and puts our people at risk, then I have an obligation as President to do what I can without them. I’ve got an obligation to act on behalf of the American people. And I’m not going to stand by while a minority in the Senate puts party ideology ahead of the people that we were elected to serve. Not with so much at stake, not at this make-or-break moment for middle-class Americans. We’re not going to let that happen.
The general of Ohio, Richard Cordray united President Obama as he spoke, and the President drew his authorizations: You know, you look at him and you think, this guy is not somebody who is going around picking fights. And yet, this fight on behalf of consumers is something that Richard has been waging here in Ohio for the better part of two decades.
Richard Codray as attorney general, he helped pension funds, billions of bucks. Consumers also were protected by him from unfair lending practices. Obama stated that’s why I want Richard to keep standing up for you — not just here in Ohio, but for consumers all across the country. The job ahead of Mr. Cordray is nothing less than ensuring the integrity of our financial system.
The Christian conservative former Pennsylvania senator, Rick Santorum, has come from nowhere to take the lead in the first race of the Republican race. Even if he doesn’t come in first place, it’s still a major win for Santorum. a day ago, His 25% of the vote is a marked improvement from his poll numbers. He gets supports from Jim Bob Duggars, his wife and his 19 children; it makes great change from the past few days. In front of voters, Jim Bob says, “I’m asking families, Christians all over American to get behind Rick Santorum for the next president of the United States.”
Fox411.com, Duggars also says “We have been praying about who to support and narrowing it down and decided Rick is the one to get behind because he has a proven record at lowering taxes, supporting less government and he is the author of the bill banning partial birth abortion,” Duggar, the patriarch of the family featured on the hit reality series “19 and Counting.”
“There have been so many candidates over the past few months who have risen to the top and dropped off and they had all kinds of baggage in their closet, and I think that has caused a lot of confusion,” Duggar said. “We are coming to Iowa to let people know that if you are looking for a family values candidate this is your man. He supports traditional marriage, he is pro-life, pro-gun and someone we can whole-heartedly get behind.”
Leading by a margin of just several dozen votes, Yet regardless of who finds more votes in the final boxes, it seems clear that Iowa’s conservatives have chosen Santorum.
The top tier of candidates, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul, are fighting to gain votes. Rick Santorum is running in only a digits in polls a month ago, was neck-and-neck with Mitt Romney for first place in Tuesday night’s Iowa caucuses — the first contest in the 2012 caucus and primary season — early results showed.
CNN has projected Ron Paul will finish third in Iowa, but the race for first was still too close to call late Tuesday.
With 89% of precincts reporting, Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, had 25% of the vote. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, also had 25% of the vote, and Paul, a U.S. representative from Texas, had 21%.
Early numbers from entrance polls — a sampling of Iowa voters as they headed into their caucus sites throughout the state — showed a similar breakdown in support, with Paul, Romney and Santorum in a virtual first-place tie.
Republican and CNN contributor Ari Fleischer, a former White House press secretary say that the Iowa results typically are important because they give the top finishers the fuel they need, including fundraising, to keep their campaigns going. The top three or four finishers in Iowa should be in a good position to compete in New Hampshire and the January 21 South Carolina primaries.
