Alec Baldwin refused to stop playing the interactive game Words With Friends,a Scrabble-like game, when instructed by an American Airlines flight attendant to shut down electronic devices. After ignoring the flight crew, “30 Rock” star stood up “with the seat belt light still on for departure” and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory. Sun Ray Ricochet: The Fantasy and Adventurous Works of Matt W. Moore in Moscow

Sun Ray Ricochet is a new series of canvas paintings by American graphic artist Matt W. Moore as a part of Sretenka Design Week in Moscow. The works were painted during an August 2011 Moore’s settlement in Moscow and inspired by experiences and expeditions in the city. Matt painted 15 canvases; built and painted 17 geometric sculptures and expressed his spirit of art on some walls at the exhibition. Half of the canvases Matt painted were in grey scale while the other half painted in full charming color. In addition to the exhibition Moore also painted three murals in downtown Moscow and gave two master class lectures. The grey scale paintings and mural are a nice contrast to all the color as they enable human eyes to seize the form. Continue

The Oyster Festival takes over historic Oyster Bay Harbor Saturday and Sunday. The festival, which draws an estimated 200,000 people (and more to count) , features live music, a carnival, petting zoo, fireworks, arts and crafts, more than 100 vendors, oyster eating and shucking contests in addition to a menu that went well beyond just shellfish. The festivals includes preparing and dishing out more than 40,000 East Coast oysters on the half shell in two days which a participant of the festival said that it is not an easy task. “The most difficult part is opening them with the knife, because sometimes the knife goes through and it can cut your hand,” said Freddy, one participant who prepare the oysters to eat.
