Comedian Patrice O’Neal died Tuesday morning as a result of a stroke he suffered in the late October, according to his friends at the “Opie and Anthony” radio show, a show where O’Neal was a frequent guest and co-host. Gregg “Opie” Hughes answered the numerous online rumors that had quickly spread among O’Neal’s fellow comedians by saying, “Yes it’s true that our pal Patrice O’Neal has passed away. The funniest and best thinker i’ve ever known PERIOD.” In addition to his appearances in “Opie and Anthony” radio show, O’Neal also appeared on several TV shows such as “Chappelle Show,” “The Office,” and “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.”

O’Neal suffered a stroke in October after a long battle with diabetes. The announcement about his condition was made by a group of his friends and peers on the popular Sirius radio show. His family had informed few details about the condition of the comedian since he struggled with his complicated illness. O’Neal’s manager, Matt Frost, made a statement related to the devastating news on Tuesday afternoon. “It is with terrible sadness we must report that Patrice O’Neal has passed away this morning at 7:00 AM due to the complications of the stroke he suffered on October 19.”
