Retail sales broke records during the Thanksgiving weekend, giving a needed boost to a long-suffering economy and raising retailers’ hopes for the best holiday shopping season ever. Retailers pulled out all the stops to lure foot traffic on Black Friday. Now, they’ve battling for consumer dollars in cyberspace for Cyber Monday. Last year, more than 100 million consumers shopped online on Cyber Monday to get the best deals and things they want, according to personal finance security service, BillGuard. Thus, if you don’t want miss the opportunity and leave Cyber Monday with empty hand, you have to be sharp in observing the deal and goods you want to take home online.
Find retailers which offer the merchandise you want, look into the various Black Friday deal sites and the retailers site and follow them on Twitter. By following them on Twitter, it seems that it will be an effective plan to get the best deal and merchandises people want, instead of waiting in line for hours in the front of shops. “The retailers announce a lot of their deals on Twitter,” says Dan de Grandpre, chief executive officer of dealnews.com. Online crowds move quicker than real ones do, so you could do with readiness to take advantage for the sale by getting up earlier and staying up late. “Items get cheap and sell out very quickly,” says de Grandpre. “Deals launch in the middle of the night, or very early, but it’s still cheaper than going to the store.”
