So, finally Teresa Scanlan, Miss Nebraska, should step down her crown toward the Miss Wisconsin at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Saturday night, January 14 2012, has marked Laura Kaeppeler as the crowned Miss America. This 23 year-old girl beat out 53 other charming and talented contestants.

This was the 91st Miss America Pageant since 1972 and this was the first time Miss from Wisconsin take home the crown.  Miss Oklahoma, Betty Thompson, was the Runner Up and in third there was Kaitlin Monte from New York. Kaeppeler was crowned the Miss America 2010 by a panel of seven judges during a live telecast on ABC.

Laura Kaeppeler was strutting in a white bikini and black beaded evening gown. In the singing performance in the evening, Kaepeller was looking beautiful in red, according to ZAP2IT. Audiences and media called her as an opera singer and in fact she’s got absolutely wonderful tone. But after it they agree that Kaepeller was not that excellent in Q&A portion. Kaepeller asked if Miss America should declare her political views. She gives a very diplomatic and intelegent answer, but doesn’t really answer the question. She said,”Miss America represent anyone, so I think the message to political candidates is that they represent everyone as well. And so in these economic times we need to be looking forward to what America needs, and I think Miss America needs to represent all.”

Audience choose Kris Jenner from Arizona as a contestant with a very good answer.  The question is about Tim Tebow and religion. Her answer is about being convicted and strong in who you are, but not thrusting your faith onto someone else.

Kaepeller’s platform during competition was supporting and mentoring children of incarcerated parents. And after it, the new Miss America will spend the next year touring the country to speak to different groups and raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network, the official charity of Miss America Organizations. Congratulation  Kaeppeler, representative from Kenosha, Wisconsin to have a title for one year and for wins a $ 50,000 scholarship. Kaeppeler’s father, Jeff Kaeppeler who attend the event in a black tuxedo, baby blue vest and bow tie, told it’s the best day of his life to saw his daughter’s win.
