Olympic gold medalist and three-time Audi FIS Alpine World Cup overall champion Lindsey Vonn was asked to be a date partner of 16-year old boy to the homecoming dance. She was visiting the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy (VSSA) in Minturn when she was asked by Parker McDonald, a Nordic skier of VSSA. In relation to the VSSA visit, Lindsey Vonn is at training at Vail’s Golden Peak to head First Tracks event presented by Nature Valley this Saturday, November 5. The training base is officially open and serves as the perfect preview for the track competition today, according to the U.S. Ski Team Announcement.
Vonn says on her Facebook page that Parker beat up the courage most of people wish to have a date with a beautiful and natural spirited champion: “Yesterday I visited the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy and while I was eating lunch with all the students a 16 year old boy named Parker asked me if I would be his date for their homecoming dance, which is tonight,” Vonn wrote. “When Parker asked me he was cute, nervous and very polite so of course I said YES!
” When Parker was asked the reason why he asked Lindsey Vonn to be his date partner at the homecoming dance, he replied: “I asked her because she’s awesome!”.
