The assasination in Memphis,1986, doesn’t make Martin Lurther King Jr., dissapear forever. His legacy- speech and equality spirit- remain, and the appreciation for him never stop until now, in 27th annual Martin Lurther King Jr,. Day Marade. Marade stands for march and parade.

People got the day off work Monday in celebration of the birthday of a civil rights leader and minister credited with bringing equal rights to African-American, and other minority groups. What King has done is a history but many decided to never let the history left only in written text. They follow in Dr.Kings path.

Can’t deny that a lot has changed since the life of Dr.Kings. There has been much progress in social rights, but the socio economic divide continues to grow, as the statement of Paul Krughon, “How fares the dream?”

In Monday there were people remembering the same thing by different way. People strolled down Coltax Avenue from City Park to Civic Center Park, a small group
of student at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Fort Greene, echoed King’s famous words by chants,”We have a dream, save our school.”, street artist pictured the mural depicts the ‘I Have a Dream speech in 1963, and many other. Martin Luther King Jr’ delivers his “I Have a Dream ” speech from the Lincoln Memorial August 28,1963, on The Mall in Washington,DC, during the ‘March on Washington’. He says was not the written speech King had prepared.

There was an interesting statement came from a man called Michael. Seemingly, he has little different way in appreciate the day. He said,”Martin Lurther King Jr,. Is way over rated. Rev Al sharpton, Mike Tyson, Al Jareav, and Tito Jackson have done much more over the last thirty years. In the Marade day, different people took away the same message from Dr.King. He would be proud of such of legacy. But, inspired by King’s Nobel Peace Price or else,we should stand to end racial segregation and racial discrimination
which are actually still happen around us. May the moment to reflect on what could be equality and peace will not only exist in the Marade day.
