Houston Texans quarterback Matt Leinart left Sunday’s game versus Jacksonville with a left shoulder injury which overshadowed the 20-13 Houston’s win over Jacksonville. Now, the Houston Texans quarterback could be out for the rest of the season following the injury. Following their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, coach Gary Kubiak said post-game X-rays were questionable while Leinart later added that there is a ”pretty good possibility I won’t be coming back this season.” Leinart’s shoulder could be a serious setback since The Texans had already sidelined starter Matt Schaub for the season. Thus now they count on T.J. Yates and the new player Kellen Clemens.

A source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Leinart will have his collarbone checked Monday in Houston and “all indications are it’s broken.” Leinart sustained his injury when he was hit by Jeremy Mincey in the second quarter, landing on his shoulder before heading to the sideline. “It’s pretty disappointing. It’s tough to swallow, but we’ll just move forward,” Leinart said. Leinart was making his first start in two years after replacing Matt Schaub, who is out for the season with a foot injury. Leinart completed 10 of 13 passes for 57 yards and a touchdown, a 20-yard pass to Joel Dreessen under heavy pressure.
