Each year on Veterans Day, the U. S citizens salute the nation’s veterans and recognize their service and commitment to keep the nation safe. Not only the citizens, President of the United States, Barack Obama, is taking part in Veterans Day observances in Washington and San Diego before heading to Hawaii for an Asia-Pacific summit. The president is hosting a veterans breakfast Friday at the White House, then laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns before speaking at a Veterans Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Soon after, Obama flies to California to take part in the basketball game.
President Barack Obama will spend Veteran Days watching the Michigan State Spartans take on the North Carolina Tar Heels to tip-off the 2011 college basketball season aboard United States Navy aircraft carrier the USS Carl Vinson. The White House released the statement before Obama took apart : “This Veterans Day, President Obama will honor our nation’s veterans by laying a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery and then by traveling to San Diego, California, to attend the Carrier Classic on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson … He looks forward to a great game between Michigan State and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.”
