is no longer a member of the Minnesota Vikings as the team granted the quarterback to leave Vikings. The Vikings released the veteran quarterback on Thursday, ending his brief time with the team. His request was granted, much like the way Kyle Orton freed himself from the Denver Broncos bench last week and was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs. Only six games into the Vikings’ season, Coach Leslie Frazier sat down McNabb in favor of prized rookie Christian Ponder in the late stages of last Sunday night’s uneven loss at Chicago, which dropped the Vikings’ record to 1-5. Houston Texans quarterback Matt Leinart left Sunday’s game versus Jacksonville with a left shoulder injury which overshadowed the 20-13 Houston’s win over Jacksonville. Now, the Houston Texans quarterback could be out for the rest of the season following the injury. Following their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, coach Gary Kubiak said post-game X-rays were questionable while Leinart later added that there is a ”pretty good possibility I won’t be coming back this season.” Leinart’s shoulder could be a serious setback since The Texans had already sidelined starter Matt Schaub for the season. Quarterback Matt Schaub was lost for the season on Monday when it was revealed that he suffered a Lisfranc injury. A Lisfranc injury is a fracture of the foot in which one or all of the metatarsals are displaced from the tarsus. Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is considered to be out for the rest of the season due to the injury while coming out of the end zone late in the second quarter of Houston’s 37-9 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Derrick Mason was drafted by the Tennessee Oilers in the fourth round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan State. The Jets traded Mason to the Houston Texans on October 11, 2011, in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick. According to John McClain on Twitter, the New York Jets have traded WR Derrick Mason to the Houston Texans – McClain_on_NFL: “John McClain Texans have traded a conditional draft choice to Jets for WR Derrick Mason.” The fans consider that Mason can be the good player for the Houston Texans as he will be an incredible praise to Andre Johnson once AJ returns from his hamstring injury. The Houston Texans recently lost wide receiver Andre Johnson for a few weeks with a hamstring injury and have been struck hard by the injury bug at the position as a whole. Continue
