TLC announced that it will not renew Kate Plus 8 for another season. The show which began as Jon & Kate Plus 8 and originally followed Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight demon-spawn children, has reached fame and inspired tabloid stories. After Jon and Kate’s break up in 2009, the show was renamed Kate Plus 8 and it still flowed with the previous stories. The show is currently in its eighth season and it will not be renewed to the ninth season. However, TLC may still arrange the occasional special to keep us updated on how crazy Kate is and how cute those kids acts are.
At the end of this season, Kate Plus 8 will have filmed 150 episodes, what TLC calls “an exceptional milestone.” TV’s original reality mom has lost a job, and so have her children. Audiences were first introduced to Kate, husband Jon, and their eight children in 2007 with the special Surviving Sextuplets and Twins. Jon and Kate welcomed twins Cara and Madelyn in 2000 and after using fertility treatments to get pregnant, the couple welcomed six more children in 2004: Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. The special was so popular with viewers that the network decided to give the family their own show. Kate claims that she’s happy about her divorce and the state of her life and maybe it’s best if she takes a break from TV for a while
Kate Gosselin is an American television personality. Gosselin who gave birth to twin girls, Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate “Mady” on October 8, 2000, Gosselin became pregnant again and she gave birth to sextuplets on May 10, 2004 after further treatments to get pregnant. Gosselin first became a TV star in America when “Jon & Kate Plus 8” first aired. She has since split from husband Jon and they were divorced in 2009.
Recently, TLC has decided to pull the plug on “Kate Plus 8” (the show documenting Kate Gosselin’s trials and tribulations raising her eight children). A statement from TLC reads, “TLC has decided not to renew another season of “Kate Plus 8”. By the end of this season, “Kate Plus 8” will have hit the 150 episode mark (including “Jon & Kate Plus 8”) – an exceptional milestone.” The show’s final episode is set to air September 12th and the Gosselin family is expected to still make appearances on the network in the future. “TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future,” the statement said. Gosselin responded the cancellation of her program in Twitter by tweeting that she and her children thanked TLC and their program’s fans for six years support. They will be looking forward with great anticipation to their bright future after the end of the show.
Katie Irene “Kate” Gosselin who was born March 28, 1975 is an American television personality. Gosselin achieved national recognition on the reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8”, in which she and her ex-husband Jon Gosselin are profiled as they raise their atypical family of sextuplets and twins. Gosselin gave birth to twin girls, Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate “Mady” on October 8, 2000. The couple used fertility treatment to get pregnant because Kate was initially unable to conceive due to polycystic ovary syndrome. After further treatments, Gosselin became pregnant again and she gave birth to sextuplets on May 10, 2004, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. The sextuplets were born 10 weeks premature, which is common in the multiple births that result from fertility treatments. The early birth required that the six infants be placed on ventilators. The sextuplets are, in order of birth, Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, Leah Hope and Joel Kevin. According to her newest book, Kate revealed that very early in the pregnancy there were seven embryos, but one did not develop.
Kate Gosselin is being urged to remarry less than two years after she divorced husband of ten years, Jon Gosselin. According to “Today”, the “Kate Plus 8″ star said that her 10-year-old twins and 7-year-old septuplets want a step-father. “The kids on a daily basis are just begging for me to get married again,” said the mother of eight. “They bring it up all the time and I’m like, ‘I’m not dating anyone.’ ” In the interview, she said that she’s “definitely ready to start dating” again, but admitted there will be a lot of obstacles for her to do so.
