NEW ORLEANS, Michigan players celebrate their win from Virginia. All of Michigan fans look very happy. Defensive player tackle, Mike Martin said, “All the tough times we’ve been through makes it even more special and To be the fifth team that ever in Michigan history has won 11 games in a season, it means a lot.”

The victory capped an impressive debut season for Hoke, who has led the Wolverines (11-2) back to prominence with their first BCS bowl victory since the 2000 Orange Bowl. “I’m just real proud,” Hoke said, noting that only five Michigan teams in 132 have won 11 games in a season. “Real proud of our seniors, real proud of how they took this football team last January and molded it and did a tremendous job,”

Virginia Tech had done what they could to win from wolverines, but the reality said another.  Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer said. “They weren’t stopping us; we were stopping ourselves.” From that quotation we can interpret that Virginia Tech’s lose was not the greatness of wolverines, but only Virginia didn’t play well. Virginia Tech senior receiver Danny Coale had eight catches for 117 yards, and almost made a outstanding diving catch for a touchdown in overtime. Coale held on to the ball for what was initially ruled a score, but the play was overturned on video review, which indicated the receiver narrowly landed on the sideline.

Crouse, 39, officials said. Police said they were still confirming the man’s identity and investigating the motive for the shooting. In a statement posted on its website, the school reported that shortly after noon, a Virginia Tech police officer made a traffic stop. The officer was then shot and killed, according to witnesses. The Emergency Alert Set the Campus Lockout in Virginia Tech

The Emergency Alert Set the Campus Lockout in Virginia Tech

Posted on 05 Aug 2011 at 9:44am

The emergency alert was triggered by three students who were attending a summer program on campus and told police they saw a man walking quickly across the grounds who might cover a handgun covered in a cloth. After the coming of the police officers, 150 buildings on the square-mile campus where several thousand students and the school’s 6,500 employees were on summer classes were explored. They issued a sketch of a man who was said to be wearing shorts and sandals, but they found no sign of him. They continued to patrol the grounds as a safety measure. A report of a possible gunman at Virginia Tech yesterday set off the longest lockout since the shooting rampage in 2007 that left 33 people dead by student Seung-Hui Cho. The horrible shooting incident in 2007 has prepared Virginia Tech’s to improve emergency alert system, which was renovated to add the use of text messages and other means besides e-mail of warning students.

The police officers reported that no gunman was found, and they ended the school lockout just before 3 p.m. It is about five hours after the warning was triggered and students and staff members started receiving warnings by phone, e-mail, and text message to lock themselves indoors. The entire campus students and officials don’t want to experience twice the deadliest school shooting in US history when a student named Seung-Hui Cho was chaining the doors to a classroom building, where he killed 30 more people and himself.
