Joplin tornado killed at least 116 people in the small city and it means Kansas lost half of its population and means strucktural problems; devastated infrastructure and traumatic effect. The victim need to rebuild a new residence and a new life. Hope this progress works in healing them.
As rebuilt homes and stores slowly return to a city destroyed by a great tornado, Joplin civic, political and bussiness leaders are nearing finishing step of a long-term plan to guide the recovery. The citizens advisory recovery team is also recommending greater enforcement of of nusane codes, stepped-up efforts to encourage home owner to buy property insurance and the construction of a medical school. They also want the city to hire a ‘master developer’ who would oversee the rebuilding plan.
The solidarity and effort of healing Joplin also come from Convoy of Hope. They commited $ 1 million to help them. The president of Convoy of Hope, Hal Donaldson announced, “This is part of our commitment to continue to help the people of Joplin recover for this tragedy. The people of Joplin are our neighbors and our friends and we will stand by them. I want to thanks Extreme makeover: Home Edition for including us in effort.” According to KY3 news, Convoy of Hope is currently helps to build 10 homes in Joplin. In the months immediatelly following the tornado, Convoy of Hope rushed 2,6 Million pounds of water, food and supplies to the Jolin community.
The aid and the plan to guide the recovery with its progress expected can really recovering both infrastructures and spirit of the victims.
